Anna Madeleine (2016)

Dr Anna Madeleine Raupach collaborated with Associate Professor Alexandra Webb and Associate Professor Krisztina Valter to research how animation and interactivity can create a new way to experience anatomy. The project explored medical imaging technologies such as computed tomography (CT) and x-ray, with the aim of creating an interactive installation that incorporates hand-drawn stop animations of various parts of the body that change shape, form, scale and motion in response to interaction from the viewer.

Anna created a series of four 360° virtual reality videos and a projection installation

Liz Coats (2015)

In 2015, Dr Liz Coats collaborated with Associate Professor Krisztina Valter in an exploration of the physiology and function of colour vision. Layered transparent and semi-transparent colour arrays in painting, can appear to shift in and out of visual focus and vary in intensity and hue. Liz related these effects to the known physiology of vision, while seeking out language that accords with an artist’s direct experience. Colour abstraction was approached as an organic process of discovery, in which choices made during construction associate with perceptual depth in the colour field.
